Smooth Red by Clay Planet is a cone 5/6 smooth throwing clay for the potter's wheel, or hand building. Fashioned after famous Chinese Yixing Purple Sand clays, Smooth Red is fine textured, smooth and water tight at mid fire. Perfect for teapots, and cups. Food Safe and non toxic.

Note: When fired to cone 6, slab-built forms have tendency to warp easily.
